It’s official, the USDA National Agriculture Statistics Service released their 2014 report today, and Idaho once again claimed #3 in state rankings for milk production. Read the full report . On page 10 of the report, you will see that Idaho produced just over 13.8 billion pounds of milk, just ahead of New York’s 13.7 billion pounds. This friendly rivalry comes up annually, with both states nose-to-nose in milk production. California is ranked #1 with over 42 billion pounds, and Wisconsin is #2 with over 27 billion pounds.
