Program Overview

FUEL UP to PLAY 60 is nutrition and physical activity program launched by the National Dairy Council and the NFL, in collaboration with the USDA, to help encourage today’s youth to lead healthy lives. See the Fuel Up to Play 60 website for more information.

Fuel Up to Play 60 is most successful when teachers, health professionals, school administrators, and parents empower kids and work with them to customize the program. Several opportunities exist for local involvement.

Where fewer children are involved with Fuel Up to Play 60, just 12% report making healthier choices. In schools with higher involvement (over 10%), 56% of students report making healthier choices.

Greater student involvement translates to a boost in physical activity. In schools with low student involvement, only 14% report an increase in physical activity, but with greater students involvement, 67% report more physical activity.
