Farm tour materials

Dairy West is happy to support dairy farm families hosting on-farm tours and community events by providing dairy farm tour materials that help create engaging and educational experiences for visitors.

Materials may vary by state or event type. Based on the audience and the number of students, parents and chaperones attending, Dairy West will assemble a selection of age-appropriate resources for your event.

On-farm tour and ag tourism grant

Dairy West supports on-farm events through the on-farm tour and ag tourism grant. This grant helps Dairy West farmers create meaningful, educational experiences for consumers visiting their farms.

Grant details

This grant is available to Dairy West farmers hosting consumer-facing on-farm tours or events. Awarded farmers may receive up to $3,000 per calendar year. Grant requests must be submitted before the event.

Funding is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed for the full requested amount.

Awardees will be asked to submit a short summary and photos showing how the grant was used.

What the grant can support

Eligible expenses may include:

  • Pre-designed signage (learn more below)
  • Event equipment such as tents, tables, chairs, hand-washing stations and shoe wash stations
  • Custom signage or banners
  • Website or logo design
  • Liability waivers or other event materials

Pre-designed signage

Awarded farmers may choose signage from the Dairy West Farm Signage Catalog for their farm. Dairy West will apply the grant allotment toward approved printing and shipping costs.

Sign pricing shown in the catalog is an estimate. Final pricing may vary based on order volume, including whether signs are ordered individually or as part of a larger group order. Expected turnaround time is two weeks. Mounting hardware is not included. Pre-made holes are provided for easy mounting.

Other eligible expenses

For expenses outside of the pre-designed signage, farmers purchase the item(s) and submit receipts for reimbursement. Reimbursements are issued after receipts are reviewed, up to the approved grant amount.

Have a different idea? You’re welcome to submit it. All proposals will be considered during the review process.
